S&W 66-2 broken hammer nose

This is second post and I really need your help on this one. My question is, can I use the Post-1988 Model 66 hammer nose ( the one with spring) on this one without changing the whole hammer assembly? or am I stuck with the older style which is $20 a pop, aside from being hard to find? Looking forward for your replies. Thanks.
 
Yes, you can use the hammer nose with the spring, if the diameter of the nose is correct for the bushing in the frame. If the hole in the frame bushing is too small you may be able to dress down the hammer nose. If it is too large, you may need to send the gun back to S&W for a new one. If you can't find a hammer nose with the slot for the spring you can cut a slot with a cutoff wheel on a Dremel.
