I live around the Cinci area in Ohio, My 65 3" needs some TLC.
Can any body recommend a competent smith near me.

I've sent a couple back to S&W and am very pleased with the work and the cost.
What kind of TLC does your 65 need?

I need to have the timing checked and the cylinder closes hard and opens hard, something is possibly to long.

Sometimes the opening and closing hard thing can be rectified by a good de-crudding under the extractor star and general area. Also make sure the ejector rod is screwed in tight. Some models are righty-tighty and some are lefty-tighty.

Give your 65 a good old fashioned cleaning and check the ejector rod for looseness. Hopefully your problems will go away.
