Sigma Extractor: Factory Fix
Yes. In 2004 I had the same problem. My gun store owner fixed the first extractor. The next time time it happened, just a few weeks later, I sent my SW9VE back to Smith and Wesson. They said they hand-fitted an oversized extractor to my pistol. It took care of the problem permanently (at least up until now).
When I got my gun back, it had a smoother trigger, too, and has run flawlessly for over 4,000 rounds of all kinds of ammo. I use mostly Winchester USA ("white box"), but I shoot small amounts of Cor-bon, Speer, Federal, and Hornady +P ammo, too, as well as major brands of 115 - 147 grain standard pressure lead and jacketed ammo.
CAUTION: Eventually, I realized that I had shot some Russian "Brown Bear" and "Silver Bear" ammo before my extractor broke the first time. I don't remember if I was still using that bad ammo before the second extractor broke. Some of that Russian stuff has harder cases, like steel or something similar. From then on, I have NEVER used anything but brass case ammo, and I stay away from all that "cheap" imported ammo, as well as minor brands. If I had read my owner's manual more carefully, I would never have bought any of that other "cheap" ammo.
I love my Sigma 9VE.
