RCBS. I have both the 8# and the 25# military models.

While the 0 to 25 pound RCBS has a larger range of measurement, the 0 to 8 pound RCBS scale is more accurate because of the smaller scale range. I find it to work very well, but sometimes you do need both if you intend to measure anything over 8 pounds. They are simple, reliable and work well, and they are reasonable priced.

I use a digital gauge for "rough" readings, especially when obtaining averaged readings with plastic pistols, but prefer to use the old fashioned steel weights for checking 1911's and revolvers in SA.

Got the Lyman digital for Christmas and thinks it's just great. Tried using one of the spring scales and after I got the Lyman I found my readings were off by a good pound to a bit more.

Default trigger gauge

I have had a lyman for years, and am happy to recommend it. It is easy to use and measures from 1 oz to 12lbs, has digital display, and will give the average of, up to 10 trigger pulls.

Lyman. Had an RCBS spring type one years back and tossed it. Have used the Lyman a lot for several years now and it does everything I need.
