Question Please look at this "wart" on bottom of rebound slide

I took my M 25 MT gun apart to put in a lighter rebound spring and main spring. I was polishing the rebound slide and noticed this wart in the notch on the bottom of the slide. Part of the MIM process??

I am not sure what to do, as not really sure how it interacts with the trigger.

I do not have a small enough flat file to remove it.

Should I get a new one??
Leave it?

OCD1- if you don't have a set of needle files (which you should pick up when you get a chance since they are sooo handy for minor gunsmithing like this), I'd call S&W and e-mal them the pic. They may send you a new one asap free, or they may want you to ship it back on their dime to see what else may be wrong inside the gun.

Something else you can do in a case like this is wrap a piece of emory cloth or crocus cloth around a popsicle stick and use the side to smooth away the "lump".

I did find a file I can turn on edge that will fit but I am going to call SW and try for a new one. I just don't like it!

Thanks

It's (the "wart") in a spot that makes no difference. I'd take a small screw driver and see if it want's to chip off. If it does fine, if it doesn't that's fine too, it won't affect anything.

Thanks. I didn't think it did anything but was not sure. The trigger worked fine.

I just filed it off and polished a bit with wet dry paper.

I just put in a lighter rebound spring and a Wolf mainspring. so hopefully the trigger will be a little better.

Seen those a few times on MIM rebound slides, never bothered with them.

But then my screen name isn't OCD1.
