Sight options for S&W 4500 series?
What sight options (factory and non-factory) exist for S&W's 4500 series of FIXED-sighted 3rd Gen autos? What I would LIKE is a 10-8 plain black rear with a 'U-notch' and a green fiber optic front sight.

Novack made the sights for most 3rd gen autos, so their cut is the only thing stopping you from any kind of sight you like. The Novack cut is HUGELY popular. You can find the sights you want. I promise.

Is this the rear sight you'd like? Fits S&W 1911 & 4500 guns.

Carefully check with any sight manufacturer or seller to make sure the sights will work on a 3rd gen 45XX series pistol.
Last time I asked S&W, the rear sights for the SW1911 series were adapted from the 3rd gen 39XX series, which uses a rear sight that's a lot shorter in height than those used on the 3rd gen .45's.
FWIW, the stock Novak Low Mount rear sight on my SW1911SC looks similarly low like the stock sights that came on my 3913 & CS9, which are noticeably shorter than those which come on the 4513/4566/CS45's.

As you are aware, though, the S&W 4500-series autos with OEM fixed sights have a 'funky' rear sight cut.

I recently put a Novak FO (green) front sight on my 4506, they made me a taller sight to accomodate the Millett rear adjustable sight. They were good to deal with, and the price was reasonable, in my view. I dealt with Mike on the phone at Novak.

dogsoldier,
What sight combo did you go with? I'm interetsed in changing out the sights on my 4566 and the 10-8 plain black rears look good, but I'm undecided on the front sights.

I'm going with the 10-8 rear and an XS BigDot front sight.....just as soon as I find someone that can fill in the mounting holes in my 4563TSW's dustcover and do the whole gun in black (Melonite).I also want the OEM 45TSW 'legend' redone so it's visible. Ideas, guys?
