Default Swap Stock Medallions?

I know it sounds strange, but here's the deal:
I have a nice old pair of rosewood K target stocks on which bubba, for some unknown reason, mangled the medallions and their backing disks.
So, I also have a battered pair of PC magnas with fine medallions.
Would like to swap the latter into the former.
Anyone done this? If so, what's the best technique?

I figured to drill into the front of the damaged ones and use an ez-out to twist them free. Seems that driving them out from the back would likely crack the surrounding wood.

As for the rest of the process, I'm at a loss.

Anyone?

thanks.

Why not use a small saw or wood chisel and remove the medallions that way, leaving them intact. If the grips are no good, what difference does it make what you do to them.

I would think that you would want the medallions, once you get them off, in the same shape that they are currently in.

I'm talking about drilling the bad medallions from the good stocks without damaging the stocks.

I'll destroy the junkers to salvage those medallions.

As they're swaged in, I'll have to devise a new attachment mechanism.
