Model 57 rear sight assembly?

I may need to start drinking again, but the rear sight on the 57 I just picked up doesn't look right. The only other contemporary N frames I presently have to compare it to are a couple of model 28s. It doesn't appear long enough, or at least the 28s' base extends out further forward.

This is a no-dash N prefix.

Is this the correct rear sight or do I need to go searching?

Looks a bit strange, like the screw is a bit too far back. Did you remove the sight to see if there had been any alterations?

Perhaps a K-frame sight??

Both my 57 sight bases extend past the step-down/contour. Looks like yours might have been cut off a bit.
