Hey all,

I have had my S&W 669 for 8 years now and I love how it shoots. Being that it is older than 8 years (i bought it used), is there any parts that should be replaced after a certain amount of years? I was looking at replacing the recoil spring, recoil spring guide, hammer spring, etc? Is there some sort of maintenance schedule that needs to be done on older guns kind of like you would do to a car after a certain amount of miles?

The gun is currently functioning 100% but I want to make sure it stays that way because it is my daily carry piece.

I've had a 469, the blued version of the 669, since the '80s and the only thing that I've changed is the recoil springs. It just keeps ticking like a Timex.
