XS sight on 2-piece barrel J-frame

XS Sight Systems has a front sight designed for fixed sight J-frames.

I have a 432 I'd like to have one of these sights installed on, but I'm concerned there is not enough material on the outer piece of the barrel to allow the necessary dovetail cut. Has anyone installed this sight on a J-frame with a 2-piece barrel?
