Took my 4" H.P. to the range yesterday and tried to adjust the sight to the load. One turn and the back sight popped up off the retention post. I spent some time trying to get it back on but apparently the threads inside the elevation adjustment screws are stripped.

A quick look at Brownell's lists the whole back sight, but the only ones in stock are the new style. Really all I need are the screw and post, anyone know of a good source? Should I just call Smith direct?

Also, any tips for getting that tiny little retention ring off the screw?

The current Brownells catalog lists all the parts you should need.They list the elevation stud,elevation nut and the screw as separate parts.If you looked at their website you might have missed them.Their website is a little confusing to me.Hope this helps.

Amen, I finally figured out how to find them using the schematic, but only after I already ordered them from Numrich. I guess I paid a few bucks more, but they're on the way.

Now, to get that little ring off somehow.
