Default Bad CS experience

I just bought an m&p 40 about 2 months ago. Right when I received it I noticed the trigger was messed up. It was rubbing the frame when I pulled the trigger and it would kind of get caught so it wasn't a very smooth pull. I realized it was because the trigger was loose and had to much play before the trigger safety kicked in. So I contacted smith and Wesson and they gave me a shipping label to print and send my gun back to them to fix. It was about a month before I got it back, which isn't ideal but also not too bad of a turn around. I've also never had to send any of my guns back for repair until now so I wasn't really sure what to expect. Anyway, when I got it back I inspected it and saw that all they did was file the back of the trigger down so it would clear the frame. But it still doesn't clear the frame and the trigger is still loose. So I contacted them again and I got a very "automated" response telling me that I need to send it back again and that the turn around time was 6-8 weeks. I am incredibly disappointed with my whole experience with smith and Wesson. This is my first gun from them and it hasn't been pleasant. I've done a lot of research and heard so many good things about them which makes it even more disappointing. I am wondering if anyone else has had problems like this with the m&p or with the smith and Wesson customer service / repair center.

Welcome to the forum and sorry to hear of your experience. I am a bit surprized to hear the response you got back on the second call. My experience with CS has been pretty good although not regarding the need to return a weapon for warranty work. I suggest a follow-up call and perhaps you will get a different CS rep. That said, it does sound like you will need to send it back again. Not sure on first time, but a detalied letter and pictures helps alot (my experience from another manufacturer). Good luck and keep us posted on this one.

Hi:
I recently returned a Model 638 with "Finish Issues". My customer rep was "Mark" who was not overly friendly or helpful. This is the third Model 638 that I have sent back in a two years time slot for the same issues. Each time the revolver has been replaced with a new one. I questioned the finish issues and was informed that this particular model finish issues was "Common" ! I have found that Ruger Customer Service is somewhat superior to S&W.
