629 PC Issue
Good day,
I have been wanting a 629 Performance Center for several years. I recently reenlisted in the Navy and decided to finally buy one. Brand new in box. I took it from the showroom floor and up the stairs to the range. I bought quality factory ammunition and a target and off I went. Loaded it fired one shot cocked the hammer for the second one and pulled the trigger. Instead on boom I got a click. After inspection of the ammo and gun I realized the firing pin had broken. So the real question I have is does anyone have experience with S&W's service center and if so how it went? I own 7 different S&W's and this is the first issue I have ever had. This issue does not turn me away for my love of a fine Smith. I would just like to know what a loyal Smith and Wesson customer should expect.
Thanks

Nothing but outstanding, in my experience. I sent in a 625 JM for some finish issues last Friday and just this morning, received a shipping notification that my 625 is enroute back to me. Received on a Friday, shipped back the next Thursday, that's pretty fast in my book. As for the quality of the work, I'll learn that once I receive it on Monday.

Nothing but good things to say about them from me. You do know they cover shipping both ways. Just call or email them and you will get a prepaid Fedex shipping label. I'm just starting to wish I would give them a little less business. I have returned 4 to S&W over the past couple of years. But 2 were for the M stamp work.

Crazy that I had the same thing happen to me today. I have had my 629 for a while never any issues. Today at the range the tip of the trigger broke. Does any one know of a warranty dealer in Canada that fixes S&W's.

I got my 629 back yesterday. I ran about 100 rounds through it with no issues. I did have to talk to customer service on the phone and they were a little rude but the gunsmiths did their job well.

Glad you got your gun back & it's working okay now. Like you, I too was unhappy with their tone, on several of my conversations with customer service, concerning my gun's repairs.
