Mod 27 Hammer
I've found a lot of older S&W replacement parts on both Midway and Brownells... Unlike Colt revolver parts, many of the same parts are interchangeable throughout the frame size (L,N,J,K, etc) and not so 'model' specific. A hammer will run about $50...however, if the hammer has issues, it's very possible the trigger will too. Also, these are not 'drop in' parts and usually need a bit of prep and fitting.
Also, it is so much easier to do a 'correct' job if you're starting with both parts as new-never cut.
If you're going this route and you're not that familiar with gunsmithing, you'd be better served to take it to a reputable 'smith, have him go thru it (he may find little goobers like ground down leaf spring screws) and do it once. Just my .2 cents.
