Default Austin Behlert fingerhooks on frontstrap

Guys,

I have a customer that likes those fingerhooks on the front strap. We know that Austin Behlert led the way when it comes to that.

Well, my customer doesn't want a Behlert gun, he rather would like to upgrade his existing 3 inch 1911.

Is there a good gunsmith out there who specializes in that kind of custom work?

I appreciate any help.

All that is required is a master welder and then any smith that is good with a file can do the clean up and checker it. It will probably be hard to find someone who does that very much anymore since putting the finger up on the guard is pretty much discredited as a method of support to enhance accuracy. There are so many problems associated with that finger on the guard causing additional errors in shooting that not many people are seen doing it anymore. But whatever someone wants.

My 1st post might be confusing, but I don't mean the fingerhook on the trigger guard. I'm talking about the -hooks (or rather -grooves) on the frontstrap of the pistol.

Thank you

I assumed the front of the trigger guard too. Pachmayr and others make grips that wrap around and have finger grooves, otherwise it's a weld and cut proposition. Not one I'd do as the risk of distorting the frame is too great.
