I have removed grip medallions from S&W post-war grips in the past and noticed that those installed on over-sized target grips have one side higher than the other, specifically, the side toward the front of the revolver is necessarily higher than the rear side because of the curvature of the grip panel. I don't know if ALL target grips are built this way but all of those in my possession are. The pic shows a side view of a medallion and clearly one side is of different thickness.
A recently purchased set on eBay to replace a set that someone before me had sanded is built like this but the two are both made to fit the left side panel. Has this happened to any other buyer recently? A long shot, but does anyone have two right sides and would want to trade one medallion? The eBay seller does not recognize there is a difference and will only offer for me to return for refund. I'd rather not do that.
