Default Barrel Replacement model pre 27

I recently purchased a seemingly nice pre 27 only to find I have an oversize bore problem and will need to replace the cylinder. My question is the source of the cylinder I found lists it as being a replacement for model 27 through 27-6 can this be true as there were changes in length and the cylinder stop?

What kind of "oversize" problem that you think requires a new "something or other"?

Is it the cylinder or the barrel ?

Any 27 barrel up to the 27-2 should fit with minor adjustment to the forcing cone length.

27-3 and SS 627 barrels or newer are not cut for a set pin but can modified to work by cutting the pin groove .

A 27 no dash and older cylinder should swap out and work with your ejector rod but need to be adjusted by a gunsmith,

The 27-1, 27-2 use the same length recessed chamber cylinder but will have left hand threaded ejector rods so you would have to use a newer ejector rod.
The 27-3 and SS Model 627 cylinders and newer do not have recessed chambers so will be shorter at the rear but might still just wont be period correct.
