Default Installing magazine base pads on Checkmate mags.

I just received two Checkmate 8-rd magazines for my S&W 1911Sc and PC1911. I also got the thin (7mm) base pads that screw into the floor plate.

BUT, the screws will not tap into the threaded holes in the floor plate. The head is cut for a Phillipshead screwdriver, but is so small that the driver just turns out of it and is unable to make it tap.

Any ideas?

Barge Cement is sometimes used to just glue them on.

I've yet to find a basepad screw that would just screw in on its own like they seem designed to do......

I always wind up tapping the holes first.

The hole may still need to be tapped but you should use a philips that fits the screw.
