Considering installing a FO front sight on my 681.
Of course, I will need to mill a slot to accept it.
Anyone done something like this on a fixed sight revolver?

Have never done this, but have talked to the nice folks at Novak’s about having them do it.
They said they saw no problem with it and thought about $75.00 if I am remembering right. For the labor.
I was going to use one of their 1911 sights as they are so common and available in so many heights.
.160-.200 are easy to come by.
I would guess it would be a low, like .160 but it should be simple to measure and match.
Can you mill it yourself ?
I am jealous if you can??
My 56 year old eyes would sure like it I am thinking.

Thanks, that's what I was pondering.
I have access to a Bridgeport mill, so cutting the slot shouldn't be too bad.
