Ok... So I bought a S&W 629 with a B-Square scope mount. I figured it would just unscrew and come apart. The front (screw) of the base comes off just fine. Well... as you can see by the pictures the back screw (or whatever it is...) does not. Do I have to take the side plate off? Anybody have any ideas.

FYI I am also going to need a N Frame Target sight.... HA!

Thanks,

Chiefbob is right, the old one piece mounts used to slide into the T notch and use the back surface of the sight cutout as a recoil abutment. Tap very gently, hopefully the installer didn't use Loc-Tite.
