I have no idea where else to post this so I'll at least start here. Looking for new original or aftermarket S&W logo metal grip medallions. John Culina has a source and I like his but can't seem to find any. Guesses??? Thanks!

S&W medallions are hard to find. If I really need a pair, I will look for a cheap, beat-up pair of grips, off ebay, just to get the medallions.

I have some spare gold tone medallions from Thailand. These have a diameter of about 10mm however. If you still want a pair, I will ship no charge.

The medallions fell out of the stock grips of my 686 SSR and were lost.

I contacted Altamont and they replaced them for me. They would not sell the medallions by themselves. I had to send the stock grips in for them to replace the medallions.

They did an excellent job and they did it for free.

Great customer service.

Good for Altamont. I like their grips. The fit is usually not perfect but they can be tuned. I like the two alignment pins. (need to be glued to one of the panels when you get them)

I just wish they would fix the coloring of their laminated material. Walnut is way too dark. Their catalog shows a much nicer Walnut color. The Cherrywood is way too red.

Right now Altimont online is sold out of almost everything for S&W k/L frames.

Off Ebay, I have purchased both S&W and Ruger grip medallions in metal form. They both were 1/2" in diameter.

Maybe he'll share his source with you.

Current medallions since the end of WWII are .400" in diameter and the surface is curved nickel plated over brass.

Pre war medallions are flat recessed gold plated and after 1930 are flat flush chrome plated brass. Size depends on the model:

N frame 1/2" and pre 1920 K are 1/2".
I frame and post 1930 K frame are .400".

I appreciate all the replies. I thought the Thailand grips were all silver in color… Or at least that's all I've seen. You have gold ones?

Member cgt4570 has some nice 1/2" medallions for sale that he had made. I bought two sets and am very happy with them.

Yes.. They are a gold/bronze color. As you can tell, I attack all my medallions with a Sharpie. This can be removed with alcohol. Again...let me know and will ship free of charge. I learned this from the Spanish pistol forum where everyone seems generous with spares.

Hold on...just found a set of the silver medallions that are the larger, almost 1/2" size. Like the ones shown on my 3" barrel with the Altamont grips. same deal.. No, won't give you both.
