Looking at trigger kits for the M&P Compact 2.0 and I'm confused about the difference or what makes one better from the other. Can anyone shed some light?

What's the difference between the Polymer Flat-Faced Forward Set Trigger Kit for M&P M2.0 vs the Action Enhancement Trigger Kit for M&P M2.0? Do either improve the trigger?

With Apex trigger kits, especially Flat-Faced Forward set trigger kit, there is a wery high risk that the pistol will fire if dropped. I see no problem using Apex for competition use, but for CCW use they should never be installed.

I used apex m&p trigger kits for 11 years and enjoy there product . The lite pull and shorter reset and over travel and with the stock and kit supplied spring you can improve the pull weight to be more like a well tuned 1911 if your a follow the reset type shooter . Opinions vari . but I run m&p pistols with thumb safey's but if you fear a drop safe issue leave the stock striker block spring in!! I'm 67 and been shooting handguns since I was 6 and carried for 37 years and never dropped any firearm and I have more than a few rifle with 1 to 2lb triggers and handguns in the 2 to 3.5lb range . I have hand issues from several surgerys and lite short trigger is what I need . Like a 3lb 8oz on my 1911 I carry or my m&p I carry with thumb safetys .

Keeping the original striker block spring alone will not prevent the drop safety to fail. The Apex striker block has a different geometry than the original one from S&W. I have installed Apex in my M&P9 C.O.R.E that I use as a race gun and it’s a very nice kit that I can highly recommend for competition shooting.

But installing aftermarket trigger kits in a CCW pistol, especially when it affects the safety functions of the pistol, is not a good idea. Even if someone experienced like hardluck1 never has dropped a loaded firearm, it is a fact that loaded firearms are dropped. It could be dropped when holstering or drawing it, or it could be dropped in an self defense situation.
