Default How to remove red paint from Shield?

Just picked up a mint original Shield. The previous owner put a small dab of red paint/red nail polish on the lower near the safety lever. How can I remove the red without ruining the gun’s finish. I’ve tried alcohol, & Goo Be Gone with no results. Any ideas? GARY

Acetone or nail polish remover on a q- tip should take it off with little effort.

Wouldn't acetone damage the plastic where the red paint is sitting? GARY

I have cleaned multiple plastic guns with carb cleaner. Sure it strips off any oil that is there, but you just re-oil after cleaning. Some cheaper plastics can be damaged by it, but I have never had a modern plastic frame gun that the cleaner harmed.

The acetone on the Q-tip did it. The red is gone, & no left over marks. Thanks. GARY
