Tips for using Silicon Carbide on grips

I am considering using Silicon Carbide on a grip that is a little too slick for my hand.

Is 60/90 good for every day carry?
If the grit is on the body side of the grip will that irritate skin?
Is epoxy the best adhesive? Any tips for a clean application?
