Replace trigger
I have a 28-2 and would like to replace the narrow trigger with a .400 target trigger. The break is currently nice and clean, and I don't plan to tinker with the action -- I just want to drop the new trigger in and close her back up.
I've been inside lockwork before and need a refresher. I understand the sequence to be something like this.
Sideplate: Remove screws, tap plate to loosen, lift bottom out slightly and slide it out and down until the 'tab' at the top of the plate clears the frame. Reinstallation is basically the reverse of this.
Once inside, can the rebound slide and spring be held in place (under tension) with a small tool while the hand and trigger are lifted off the post, and the new trigger is installed with the hand? Is it that simple?
I ask because dropping the dough on Kunhausen's book would set this project back a couple of weeks -- the trigger wasn't cheap -- and I want to start enjoying the improved feel.
Thanks for your time.
