Desire feedback from any and all members who have used Mahovsky for finish work and whether you went with either their nickel or metalife finish. All feedback and comments appreciated. Thanks.
1978 I had a 36 finisned in metalife and it has had a lot of use, still looks like new. Over the years a dozen or more guns done. had a gold cup done this year, looks great. If you would like a picture send your email
In the late 80's early 90's he did two 1911 for me, three for friends of mine, and a M10 Smith for a co-worker, all in Metalife, and all were happy with the results, I am still using my two 1911's and they look as good as the day he did them.
Mahovsky was one of the very first to offer hard chrome plating for guns.
He's been around for a long time, and has an excellent reputation for quality work.
I have NOT seen any of his recent work.
BUT..... communication is very spotty, and delivery time estimates have a tendency to not be kept.
They did a Combat Commander for me in Satin Nickle, good job, and a better price than anyone else.I also purchased a model 36 that had metalife done to it.Carried every day by previous owner than myself for 6 yrs, still looks new.
Never had any problerms or issues with them, used them for their 'Metalife SS' finish through our shops as well as many of the officers of the local PDs....still have my own Dan Wesson in the 'SS" finish and its like 'new'.........
