Are there other lockable cases with a material inside that is better for storage than the factory case? Maybe something with a different type of foam that is moisture resistant and can be customized for my pistol and accessories?

All the reports I have heard on the promags so far has been good, including from someone who used them in competition last weekend. I am going to wait a little longer to hear more, but it is looking like they are a solid alternative.
