    +P rated or not?

Are you sure your looking at the bottom of the grip? I mistook the number inside the frame for the serial number. Bottom the the grip is correct.

Bodyguard style Hammer on a Model 36 Chiefs Special?

I'm interested in a bobbed "Bodyguard" style DA / SA replacement hammer for my early 70s (5J6XXX) Model 36 Chiefs Special. Are there any bodyguard style hammers that are cutdown for pocket DA carry but still have a usable SA nub for the ocassional tin can? Will a fork style hammer I buy off...

Advice on a Chiefs Special Model 36

Ahhh the plot thickens! It turns out I was looking at the number on the insider of the crane yoke. The number on the bottom of the butt 5J6XXX. Does that mean its from 1970ish? Does that mean it can shoot +Ps? How does that effect the quality?

Advice on a Chiefs Special Model 36

As I recall, it does have "36" inside the yoke hinge and it's definitely a case hardened hammer. I'd have to look under the grips again. I'm buying it from an ornery but friendly antiques dealer who found it in a storage unit and has kept it as an unused backup to his other chiefs special...

19-4 cylinder lock sometimes doesnt 2nd click

    S&W trigger tuning

Holy smokes, those are some amazing numbers! Can you do this to a blued gun? How do i know my Model 19 won't turn into a rusty junk heap? I seem to recall the AGI videos 1911 gunsmith uses simple green. But I like the idea of boiling water drying everything out. Maybe if I put some sea...
