Loved that gun and regret allowing mine to get worked in to a trade deal. Really great gun if you aren't obsessed with having a box of ammo onboard. There is also the aluminum framed version 3904 that is less durable but easier to tote.

IIRC, the WVSP bid for their melonite and integral rail 4566 was ~ $780 per. I would be a buyer at that price, but it's hard to imagine I could snag one at the same price.

Have a friend that bought a 4006 a couple months back to go with a Kel-Tec Sub2000. Seems he got a smoking deal on the Kel-Tec because it was the model configured to take the 4006 mags and not one for a Glock 40. Never knew anyone made a pistol caliber carbine that took 4006 mags.

Thanks for posting the info Grog. I'm passing it on to my buddy in the DFW area. Not sure how that works with his 4th plans, but he has been interested in trying a M&P 45 and you can't hardly go wrong with a deal like this.

My bad. I read the bought the 14 round mags part and was thinking he bought the gun too. But rereading Grog's post and seeing that they "have at least a dozen" and "probably have more in back" sounds like he could still share here and probably be ok. Course that is totaly his call.

Very nice work from both gunsmiths. Wonder if it wouldn't make sense to bob the beavetail some on these chopped guns to be more like the compact profile. I've seen someone swap a full size 45 slide with a compact frame. Liked that idea too.
