2 Stage vs Single Stage triggers

That's one of the reasons I chose a Wilson Combat TTU. Unlike Mistwolf's drop (un)safe description, the TTU prevents the hammer from falling all the way forward unless the trigger is depressed. Wilson Combat® Exclusive 1911 Style Half-Cock Notch Makes The TTU The Safest AR Trigger on The...

    Justifying Concealed Carry Reciprocity

Unlike LEOSA, some states (example: Georgia just minutes from my doorstep) do not mandate training or testing for average Joe to carry. Are you suggesting Joe carry in those states and/or all states be subject to similar Federal mandates of LEOSA to implement national reciprocity? (4) during...

AOL Rant (Don't read if you don't like rants)

I still have and use my AOL e-mail address for a lot of things though I haven't had a paid account with AOL for maybe 15 years or more since I went broadband with Comcast. My e-mail accounts all funnel through AppleMail. I agree, AOL should do better than change things around like that making...

    Good Dog

Sounds like you got a great dog! My dogs, while inside or outside, have always been trained to remain on high alert at-the-ready attack status.

    Godless...a few thoughts.

I hear ya. Can't connect a lot of what's going until they get around to the flashbacks and start filling in the backstory. I thought the second half was more enjoyable than the first. I could almost see a guy enjoying it more watching it from the end to beginning... almost. :D

    Justifying Concealed Carry Reciprocity

It doesn't. It creates the conditions for it which have already been well explained here.

    Godless...a few thoughts.

I enjoyed it though I didn't like relying on 'flashbacks' to understand what I had previously watched. What's going on here... what have I missed? Then they fill in the blanks sometime later.

    Justifying Concealed Carry Reciprocity

SMSgt, Did you read the below post earlier in the thread? The below suggests NJ will welcome with open arms us Tennessee hillbillies armed with Glocks and 17rd mags loaded with whatever ammo we wish.

The guy who posted #40 I thought made several excellent points, including an underlying motivation. ;)

2 Stage vs Single Stage triggers

Right. While different designs can be inherently better suited for particular applications, overall operator skills and fitness is key. Long past my prime... this reality grows more annoying every year.

2 Stage vs Single Stage triggers

For offhand shooting there's a practical limit to a lighter weight single stage trigger. Around 4lbs is generally considered the threshold. Much lighter than 4lbs increases the likelihood of the shooter inadvertently firing before ready. A two stage trigger, while sometimes having an overall...

    Another new flashlight

There's a bunch of different packages for the Streamlight Stinger DS HPL. It was kinda confusing. I ended up with #75863. Two wall chargers (both are the same). One wall cord and one car charger cord. The wall cord was too short for my install. I used one of my extra iPhone 5w/1A wall plug-ins...

    Another new flashlight

MD2 1in OD body 1.2in OD head 5.1in overall length (Tail switch recessed. Adds no length). Don't hesitate to call Gene or his helper. They'll answer all your questions and more. The output when the bezel switch is on low is something to check and make sure it's sufficient for your needs.

    Justifying Concealed Carry Reciprocity

C'mon.... let's get serious. Both CA and NJ refuse to recognize any state carry permit across America regardless of their permitting requirements. I can't even begin to imagine what level of draconian law and onerous requirements would satisfy NJ to welcome us hillbillies from Tennessee...

    Another new flashlight

Might look at Malkoff MD2 and M91 series. It sounds like the setup you're looking for is a single-mode high output flashlight with Gene's High/Low bezel switch. Depending on bezel position (about 1/8th of a turn), the flashlight is either in full time high-mode or full time low-mode. It will...

    LED kitchen light ?s

For the shop I changed from CFL to three foot LED fixtures from Sam's Club. Love em. LEDs come in a lot of different light tones. I don't like the brilliant white lights in the house. The LEDs we have inside the house well mimic the incandescent they replaced. When replacing some of our canned...

    USPS mistake?

For a government protected monopoly and tax exempt operation, USPS has figured out how to deliver letters pretty well, at least from my personal experience. Packages... not so much... particularly when handed off from UPS and FedEx. They seem to do better on Sunday deliveries with Amazon...
