I Guess the 10 MM is Enough for Bears

Confirms my opinion, the 10mm is arguably the best all around pistol cartridge. No it's not a 44 Mag but you got 14+1 rounds of more power than a 357 Mag. Load it up for the woods or load it down for self-defence. I've got a Tanfoglio 10mm and it's my favorite.

    629-4: Price check and, trade?

Sounds like a good ballpark price, 3" barrels are pretty rare, that's a plus. I would not use a trade, normally you don't get near the value of the gun being traded.

I'd like to see some favorite deer rifles

6.5 Grendel, lightweight, low recoil, accurate and deadly. I'm confident of an ethical shot out to 300 yds. Great gun.

    Pick one

Well as you can see, ask and you will receive. There's A lot of great advice here, so now it a matter of personal preference. One thing I would recommend is getting a copy of "Standard Catalog of Smith and Wesson, Forth Edition". If you want to do a deep dive and learn about the nitty gritty...

    LGS S&W M29 Nickel 4"bbl

I think that price is at the top end of the market. And it sounds like the guns condition plus having all the goodies could make fair deal. One thing for sure, I don't see prices coming down on high quality N-frames.

    New guy from WI

Howdy Beau, Welcome to the forum, fellow cheesehead here from the Fox Valley. You've come to the right place to learn about S&Ws. This place is a gold mine of information when it comes to buying, selling and all things S&W. Favorite gun in my humble collection is this Model 29 no dash.

    K-22 1952

Great minds must think alike. I got hot to buy a birthyear gun couple years ago. After a long period of searching I found this '52 K22. One of my top treasures in the gun safe. It came with correct but non-numbered magas but I found a nice set of targets.

    Red dot on a revolver

With the nice weather we had I got a chance to get out and zero my 629. Sighted in nicely no surprises. Was shooting point of aim within 12 shots, shooting 2.5" groups at 25 yards. But beware getting used to a red dot on a pistol will take practice. Acquiring the red dot is totally...

    Red dot on a revolver

Just this last week I put a reddot on my 629-4 5" using the Weigatinny base. Haven't shot it yet but seems to be a very solid mounting option.
