    CZ 75 Pre B

The CZ75 design is one of the best semiautomatic out there. I took the long way around to get into the 75. When it came to pistols I was always partial to revolvers. Then the wonder nine took the market and I bought Walther PPQ, great gun no doubt about it but its plastic. Sorry, but I like...

Tucked away in the corner of the case @ my LGS...

Nice find. Those no dashes are a sweet spot. I've got a 29 ND and in the process of buying 610 ND. This could get addicting.

    Colt Second Gen SAA

My very first pistol was a SAA, 357 w/7.5" barrel bought in 1973. Another one I wish I hadn't sold.

    629 pinned and recessed

I'd have to agree that $1300 is on the high side. They are pretty rare, only made for, I think three years. The 4" & 8-3/8" are somewhat more desirable. But you have to ask, how often do you see one come up, if looks good go for it.

    Lost and Found...

I seem to have a black hole under my bench. It gets about 50% of the parts that hit the floor. And the older I get the more parts go missing. I even have the floor color coded.

    629-4

The -4 if you're familiar with S&W dash system to designate design changes. Some of the changes were cost cutting, some were product quality improvements, some change were considered a step back in quality. Matter of opinion. In my opinion the -4 is arguably one of best pistols S&W put out...

    Bergara 22 Rifles

League shooter I've been shooting in a 22 rifle league at my LGC for the last six years. Started with a 10/22 at 25 yards the first year and it shot pretty good. Second year moved to 50yards and the old 10/22 wasn't competitive. Bought a CZ 452 Varmint, it shot better but I was expecting...

What did you pay (and when) for your .38 Special M & P Model of 1905 revolver?

Thank you Guy and to all the other members here who share their knowledge. I'm not a collector but the S&W revolvers I find fascinating. The research and discovery is half the fun and this forum is wealth of information.

    500 trade?

I think if you shoot it that might make up your mind.

Is a Simmons Whitetail Classic scope okay for a rimfire match?

Where is the paralex focused? For 22 Rimfire you want a scope that can focus down to minimum 25 rds. If can't focus the scope to the yardage you're shooting at it's worthless.

    When the excitement turns bittersweet

I had the same dilemma with 17-1 that I came across. It was so cherry I couldn't bring myself to shoot it. I ended up selling it because it was so nice which I regret even more. My advice, shoot it, enjoy it. Or, put it in your safe and buy a shooter. That the option I wish I wouldn't done.

What did you pay (and when) for your .38 Special M & P Model of 1905 revolver?

A timely post for me. I just started my quest for my fathers birth year gun (1926). The guns discussed here would be in my interest. Is there a resource matching serial numbers to the year. I have a copy of "Smith&Wesson Standard Catalog" but for some of the older models only the serial...

Preparing for our first "annual" (hopefully) Bourbon tasting and cigar night.

Sounds like a great get together, I can't speak to the cigars but four bourbons I'd be putting out; Old Forester 1920, Henry McKenna 10yr, Jack Daniels Single Barrel and Woodford Reserve Double Oak. Suddenly I'm getting thirsty. I'm going to go have one, have a good tasting.

    Expired/Withdrawn WTB - 100 Year Old Shooter

Looking for an old vintage revolver dating to 1926. This will be a bit of a sentimental endeavour. My father was born in 1926 so with his 100 year old birthday coming up I'd like to find something to commemorate it. What I'm looking for is wide open. S&W M&P Model of 1905 Target (4th Change)...
