Anyone ever have to actually draw on someone?

As a civilian, don't ever be in a hurry to draw your concealed weapon. But if you do, you'd better be right.

Why do people say "no dash?"

+1 This is the only kind of model info I care about if I'm considering a gun for purchase. As long as there are lots of nice, clear (in focus, please) photos - including one of the model number like this, then the ad really doesn't have to say very much else, except for the price. No-pictures...

    17-3 on GB

Last year, I was looking for a Colt Detective Special of a certain year of manufacture for nostalgia reasons and found one on GunsAmerica at what I considered to be a fair price. The description stated 99% condition, but in one of the pictures there seemed to be either a reflection or a bit of...

    Boot grip question

Ever try the S&W banana grips like these shown on my '74 Model 60? They're long and fat enough to give a good, comfortable grip, IMO.

Has Your Stainless Steel Revolver Discolored/Rusted/Pitted?

He continued: "Another variable is the time rubber is resident in the mold at temperature (~350F). The longer it is, the more excess sulphur is driven off as sulphur dioxide (stinky stuff), but time = money so the shorter cycle time the better from the manufacturer's point of view. Our rubber...

Has Your Stainless Steel Revolver Discolored/Rusted/Pitted?

I just forwarded this to my brother-in-law who used to be in sales for a manufacturer of rubber and plastics. Here's his reply: "The standard approach to master batch rubber formulation is to add far more sulphur than is needed to cross link the particular batch of rubber to it's theoretical...

Has Your Stainless Steel Revolver Discolored/Rusted/Pitted?

Well, RATS! After reading this thread last evening. I decided to check my two S&W's that have rubber grips installed. Both guns have always been kept inside the air conditioned house as nightstand guns - not carried. I have a 1973 Model 36 that's been wearing a Pachmayr Gripper grip for a...

Has Your Stainless Steel Revolver Discolored/Rusted/Pitted?

Try removing the yoke screw and dribbling some Marvel Mystery Oil or 3 in 1 oil into the side plate screw hole. You'll probably get more oil in than through the frame/yoke gap.
