    Pre War K frame

Well, can you post a picture of the left side of the grip frame without the grips? The magna grips are not original. It likely shipped in 1917/18 since it has no trademark stamp. Original grips should be round top, gold medallion, checkered walnut service panels. I'd put it in the $400-500 range.

Smith&Wesson 38 revolver - Please help with Model Number & Date of Mfg.

Jack is usually right on. But, I'm gonna disagree politely. It is a very early "S series serial number" Post-WWII M&P made with a WWII frame in March or April 1946. It left the factory with a nickel finish (N under the barrel). My guess is it is chambered for .38 Special. The grips are Jay Scott...

    Another Grip Mystery, Actually 2

The K frames are WWII Victory M&P grips. The N frames could be for a pre-WWII 1917 or .455 Hand Ejector model. The grip frames for pre-war N frames were slightly longer than post-war frames.

What N frame ejector rods are interchangeable with a Pre 29?

Welcome to the forums from the Wiregrass! Have you looked at Numrich and the classifieds forum here? Yes. Any N frame rod of the same vintage and barrel length should work.

I have a question for those in the know about the value of the 4 screw & 5 screw K-32s as compared to the M-16-4

Sam, you might want to read the section on the Model 16's in the SCSW, 5th Edition. The 16-4's are considerably less valuable given equal condition.

    Model 1913 / Model 35

Welcome to the forums from the Wiregrass! I think it would be helpful if you posted a picture of your Model 1913 .35 Semi-auto Pistol in your original post because, although you are in the correct forum, the content here is dominated by revolvers. It is very difficult to know how many of the...

Need help identifying year of this baby chief

I believe it shipped in early 1954. Technically, it is factory nickel but it was refinished [R-N] by the factory in 1983 [1 1 83]. The B on the lower part of the grip frame likely means it left the factory originally in blue.

Old hand ejector 38 S&W no ejector shroud

Welcome to the forums from the cotton and peanut covered plains of the Wiregrass! If it has no front locking lug for the ejector rod, it is a .38 Military & Police Hand Ejector, Model 1899 made around 1901.

32-20 ship date query for great-grandfather's revolver

The table of K frame revolvers you refer to is for .38 Special hand ejectors. .32-20 Hand Ejectors are also made on the K frame but have their own separate serial number sequence that overlaps with other models. On older models, you can't just use the serial number to pin down a date. You have...

    32-20

I see several with nearby serials shipping in May/June 1926. For example, 130798 shipped in May 1926.

    Help IDing .32 revolver

Welcome to the forums from the Wiregrass! You have a .32 Hand Ejector, 3rd Model that likely shipped in early 1920. The numbers in the yoke cut are only used during manufacturing to keep fitted parts together.

    Model 27 born on date

Serial S209002 shipped in June 1961. Serial S209924 shipped in December 1960. As has been demonstrated over and over, S&W did not ship in serial number order. So, we can only infer a ship date from our tables and known ship dates. From these 3 dates, it is likely your gun shipped in late 1960 or...

    Post war m1917

Max, you have a Commercial Model 1917 that shipped sometime in the 1920's based on the grips. Without a letter, pinning down a ship date for the commercials is iffy. They sorta dribbled out.

    Model 27 born on date

Lawrence, you need to give us more of the serial number. S200,000 to S300,000 serials were made from 1959 to 1968.
