    Question

Any of the Lyman manuals are good. I have 39, 41, 45, 46, 47, 48, and 50. I would check out Abe Books or a similar used book store for older manuals. If I were just buying one, it would be the current one. IIRC, 48 is available as a download.

Every Gun Handed Down To me Is Junk!

Dad gave me a 98 Mauser in 8mm that he had sporterized to hunt with. He also gave me a pump 22, probably a Mossberg when I was 12. He was a Marine who saw one purpose for a handgun and had no reason to kill anyone after WW II. When he passed my collection was larger than the rest of the family...

    Double Action with .357 Magnum

People have supposed that use of non factory ammo might be mentioned in a court case somewhere. As of this date it has NEVER occurred.

For someone who has used the Clymer reamer does it take a separate pilot? I have a 31-1 on the way.

Blurry front sight or blurry target, what's your choice?

I have gone with lined bifocals with the lower focus at my front sight and the upper set for distance. This gets me a very small move of the head between focusing on either target or sight. I try to have the hammer fall when the front sight is crisp.

    Small Town News Item

I always find it funny what some call a small town. Your small town would make up the population of two of Montana's largest cities. I live 7 miles outside of a Village of 1200 people. We have a vibrant newspaper that has won more than it s share of awards. I would like to propose the...

Can't be stupid near a buffalo herd

When the beefalo meat market was at its peak in the 80's, the best genetics for handling were 1/4 buffalo and 3/4 black angus.

How best to sell most of my guns.

In my area a gun show table costs $40-$45. Set up and you should be done in 3 days. IMO a pawn shop or FFL dealer would buy at less than 50 % of their selling price.

    S@W marked Model 18 .357 Mag 6” blue

A Model 19 would be an appropriate stamp for a 357 K frame. I can see how a mis stamp occurred. IMO, it would neither add nor subtract value.

    Model 1917 moon clip source

Because of this thread I ordered from Ranch products. I left a message with someone and within 5 minutes got a reply from a lady who said "What did you want?" When I told her she said "OH, were somewhere in the south headed for the shot show". I know we have the first ones in stock but I am not...

    A Butler Black Bear

I am one that believes birds in summer have adequate feed. They may need augmented feeding in the winter. Bears will seek out any sources of fat left near a human dwelling.

AA#9 158 JHP 357 Chrono Results and BC Gap Question

I find that AA 9 takes a heavy crimp to burn properly. I would suspect that is the reason for the spread in your hi-low readings and accuracy.

Idaho Woman out for Solo 3,000 Mile Horseback Ride (OCers take note)

Plenty of riders that follow the continental divide or similar route. Kids off of some of the reservations often do long rides. Sometimes it makes the small town news but often it doesn't.

    Lead Hardness

Look at the table in page 8 for starters. I once believed that bhn x 1475 equaled the pressure in psi you should target for the best ration of hardness to cartridge application. I have found that to focus on hardness while ignoring ductility, tensile strength and the ability to hold together as...
