    Model 24-3 44 special, reloading/casting question

I have a 4" 24-3 and my pin gauges show 0.432". I use an NOE mold spec'd at 0.432. Diameters can vary due to alloys and I powder coat. Mine came to me "unfired, we believe" outside of the factory and it has no turn line. I have only shot two cylinders through it, though it had excellent accuracy...

Shot a friend's AR yesterday - he was clueless about twist rates, but I informed him last night

I have 3 rifles in 223. Twist rates are 1 in 12, 1 in 9 and 1 in 7.5. Use the right bullet for the right task. The TC contender 1 in 12 gets the most use, 1 in 7.5 AR the least.

Cost for reloading 9mm vs. buying new ammo

$24 per 100 is $240 per K. $75 primer cost, 4 gr of powder @ 7000 gr per lb is 1750 shots. $25.70 will be the powder cost. Berrys plated $120. Total $220.70. Not much of a savings unless you are a home caster. Bulk lead trades at $0.83 a lb. 18 lbs gets you 1008 bullets. Basic cost for home cast...

    Gifts from a friend.

Free is always good if they are usable. The exposed bullets look to be 454424 Lymans. That mold was later labeled 452424.

Cast in the S&W BG 2.0?

I use a 95 gr Lee mold pc'd and a small amount of AA2. I'm shooting them out of a Bersa with decent accuracy @ 25 yards.

OP shows an address of Libby, MT. I would forget the 357 and go with a model 69.

EPA to phase out stop/start systems on cars

Our skies are so clean that the government has a plan in place to introduce dust into the upper atmosphere if we get too much UV in the air. We are our own worst enemies.

I thought that the price of using a credit/debit card was the interest payed.

About two years ago our mechanic shop changed systems and started billing 3% for cc use. Enough people complained that they went back to their old card machine who didn't require a 3% charge. I understood years ago, that the cc readers were owned by individuals and they received a percentage of...

Does anyone not own a 9mm?

I bought my first handgun in 1976. I waited 20 years before getting a 9.

    Strange Driving Experience

I live near a popular recreation area for 4 wheelers and side by sides. Our EMT's responded to several last year with rentals who put their hands out when the machine started to roll. At least four resulted in amputation of the hands.

Serving notice or asking for trouble?

Why would folks live in a community where something left in a vehicle is at risk of being stolen?

    Pistol Caliber Carbines

Another Ruger PPC owner. I have a 4x RIton scope on mine and load power coated 125 gr cast bullets. It gets a 3"-4" group at 100 yards. I would be confidant with it as a self defense weapon, especially with the 60 rd drum I have. Drawback is probably its weight. I would not mind if it was my...

Stranger Than Fiction, or something weird, in any event...

Wow, that could win you a prize at a liars contest in any rendezvous. I would certainly consider that luck beyond normal. Congratulations on it's return.

    Selected by Elmer Keith

It certainly did but for some reason the model 29 still sells well today. It isn't because of a 50 year old movie, it is because of usefulness.

    32 HE Long/ 32 Mag question

The 32 Long takes well to handloading, as do all of the 32's. A mild load of a fast burning powder and a 90-100 gr bullet will do their best to keep things in one hole. Enjoy that revolver, its a beauty.

    Flying the Flag properly

We had a lady at work who was asked to raise the flag one day. Definitely on the odd side for learning new tasks. She put it star side down. This is at a utility building with 80 workers and on a main city street. Someone came into complain, most of those who had served were in a safety meeting...

Caje's marital advice for the newly wed
