The front sight on my four screw model 10 no dash is about 1/16th of an inch wide while the front sight on my model 10-7 is about 1/8th on an inch wide. When did the sight change and why. Also the trigger on my 10-7 is smooth, not serrated like the model 10. Is that normal?

As I mentioned in an adjacent topic I just bought a pre 10 .38 that has an adjustable rear King site and a King front site. How much if any value do these sites add? Sorry I haven't figured out how to attach pics.

I suspected the backstrap markings were as you say, what of the P after the barrel s/n?

I have a 4", .38 special Victory, s/n V494011 with smooth grips marked to the gun. I don't see US markings on the gun and the backstrap is marked WB-S-ESS followed by a markings covered by pitting that appear to be 110.48 with the 48 in a larger font. The matching serial number under the barrel...

I am looking for a way to clean up the medallions on some of my older Smiths, any suggestions?

I have a 5" victory s/n V711543 in .38 S&W that has what I assume are British proofmarks (BNP 3 1/2 tons etc). The top strap is marked US Property followed by the letters, "GHD". The backstrap is stamped, "RH 203". Does anyone know what the lettering means?

I checked both barrels and they look the same, non-tapered.
