    Would you be upset?

I know I'm late to chime in on this but quite literally the only thing here worth being upset about was the 4+ month wait. But even then at only $160 they did you a big favor. Sounds like they did a fantastic job.

    cartridge (ctg)

The real reason is because firearms didn’t always use cartridges and having “CTG” told the user it was a cartridge weapon

    Pocket Wars - 637 vs 36

So I’m the same way. I prefer the weight of steel but the paranoia about rust gets to me. But so far I’ve been carrying my 36-11 for a couple weeks down here in Florida and I’ve not had a lick of rust show up. I wipe it with a big microfiber cloth at the end of every day. As much as I would love...

    Pocket Wars - 637 vs 36

So I’ve recently picked up the Model 36-11 from S&W. Great little revolver and it sits nicely next to my 637-2. After a couple weeks of carry I’ve began to feel my instincts urging me to move back to the 637. While the extra weight of the 36 handles Underwood wadcutters beautifully I’ve found...

Tell me about the Smith and Wesson 632 UC..

I would also be sure to throughly inspect for end shake, yoke movement, timing, check the ejector rod, check the hand, everything. A lot of people love to abuse revolvers for some reason.

Tell me about the Smith and Wesson 632 UC..

I’m gonna keep it real. 32HRM is good but you’re making a sacrifice to gain one round. I would genuinely only recommend it if you either can’t handle a 38 special air weight or simply can’t live without 6 chambers. Otherwise I’d just go with the 642UC running 150gr Underwood Hardcast wadcutters.

    Why Can't I Find a Mint No-Dash Model 36?

I’ve never heard of someone grinding off the serrations on the front sight. What a strange thing to do

    Why Can't I Find a Mint No-Dash Model 36?

The model 36 is a carbon steel offered in either blue or nickel finish. The model 60 is a stainless steel that originally sold in a polished finish the first year, then kind of a matte finish, then a brushed finish (today). Strangely, the model 60 was upgraded to 357 magnum I believe some time...

    Why Can't I Find a Mint No-Dash Model 36?

Maybe 6 years ago you could but probably not anymore. All the pristine examples I find both in store and online run $550+. I can’t for the life of me find a model 60 but I do some across some 36s from time to time. I really wish S&W would just go ahead and produce a Model 60 classic already...

    Why Can't I Find a Mint No-Dash Model 36?

This was the 36 I had for a few months before letting it go to a more deserving buyer. I kinda realized that I felt better owning something that Springfield Mass could service today. Then SHOT show came around and S&W blessed us with a no lock 36-11.

    Honest wear 637.

I wonder what my model 36 is gonna look like in 20 years. I’ve already taken it out to the line twice and it’s racked up 125 rounds. As soon as I got home and cleaned it I already had the urge to go back and shoot another 50.

Feeling more secure with a revolver vs. a semi-auto?

This is an argument I’ve made about carry before. Imagine for a moment that you were in a super rare defensive shooting, say, you were parked in the parking lot of a grocery store while the lady is inside. While parked you become subject to a crime and use your handgun in defense. Nobody saw it...

Feeling more secure with a revolver vs. a semi-auto?

Yeah that’s because those two times were when I was an over the road truck driver and at the time I in fact did not have much choice in a lot of things. I don’t do that anymore, thankfully, specifically because of how absolutely dangerous the job was. But during that time I would use a Glock 19...

Feeling more secure with a revolver vs. a semi-auto?

The two times I’ve used a pistol to get someone away from me, when I was an OTR driver, it’s never even made it out of my pocket 🤷

Feeling more secure with a revolver vs. a semi-auto?

The entire point I’m making here is that a 5 shot J frame is incredibly likely to be more than sufficient and perhaps never needed in the first place. I could carry a 2 shot derringer and not feel the least bit under gunned

Feeling more secure with a revolver vs. a semi-auto?

Believe it or not you actually do choose when where and how. I don’t pick fights or get into trouble. I don’t go to places where people pick fights and start trouble. I don’t go out late at night. My home defense plan is to stay in my room lock the door and shoot anyone who tries to come in my...

Feeling more secure with a revolver vs. a semi-auto?

I’ve always said that if someone lives somewhere that a gun battle is an actual situation they need to be prepared for then they seriously need to get out of there and move. Carrying a firearm for self defense is for *self defense*. Anyone who finds themselves in a gun battle in their day to day...
