    Progressive Press Choices ?

Yeah, today I loaded 37 357 mag loads to use up some primers I had laying around, and used my Lee Turret press to do so. Not worth setting up the Dillon for a short run like that.

    Progressive Press Choices ?

I have owned and used Dillon SDB and RL550 progressive presses. The SDB's worked well but die changes were a pain, so I ended up with 3 or 4 of them. I finally sold them all off and went with a RL550C. It works well but does take some fiddling and attention to detail, like they all do. Spare...

    Pawn shop find-HK USP9

Nice. I bought a USP40C at my local pawn shop a few years ago, for $529 with 4 mags. I used it for my CCW range training and it hides by my front door. I also take it, with the 10 round mags, when I travel to states that have magazine restrictions. 12 round mags are available for the 40, so...

Civilian Marksmanship Program (CMP): Good thing or curse?

I just sent in my packet for round 3 of the 1911 sale. Excited to see what turns up. And today I shot one of the Garands I have bought from them over the years. Looking back at the sales programs they had on the various 22's, 1903's, etc times were pretty darn good.

    CMP 1911 Round 3 Open

I got an email this morning from the CMP that they extended the deadline for round 3, due to Hurricane Ian. I was ruing that I had not sent in an application, so I seized the moment and did so. It will be interesting to see what is left when my application is processed.

    Elec cordless leaf blowers

I have the EGO leaf blower. It replaced my Stihl 2 stroke blower. It performs comparable to the Stihl. The battery lasts quite awhile and recharges in probably an hour (I've never timed it). Replacement batteries are very expensive and I have had one fail on me. I also have the EGO string...

Invest in CDs now or wait?

Should put that cash to work or it declines in value sitting in your pocket. 4% doesn't match inflation but it beats 0% everytime.

Invest in CDs now or wait?

You are asking someone to predict the future, which no one can do. I myself believe the fed will raise the rate and CD rates will rise somewhat. But I have been buying a few CD's here and there because it beats having the cash sitting.

    Todays residential repairmen, Suck !!

I don't really trust anyone to do something I can do myself. Some things are beyond my scope but not many. It is a good time to be in the trades and be competent. When the housing market slows down, more tradesmen should be available and looking for work.

A secular pilgrimage, our fall road trip to Ogden

The museum in Dubois is a very nice surprise. First class out in the middle of nowhere. Highly recommended.

    I series bonds

The rate will readjust on November 1, and is supposed to go down to 6.4% for the next 6 months. It could be higher if they add a fixed component to it, but that is unlikely. Still beats 6 month CD rates by quite a bit.

    I series bonds

By one quarter of interest, I presume you mean 3 months of interest, not 1/4 of the 5 year period.

    Disappointment With Longtime Local Supplier

A lot of small business owners seem to be more worried about and focusing on cash flow, as opposed to focusing on working capital costs and inventory like larger operations. They can refuse to take a loss on a sale of a gun or product where a larger operation that finances their inventory, will...

Belding & Mull Powder Measures How Old?

I use mine all the time to load rifle cartridges. I don't know why someone would have more then one loader, except if perhaps they stored their powder in them. A bunch of the drop tubes would be handy, though, as each could be set for a specific charge weight of a specific powder. The weakest...

    Green Dot Powder

One of my favorite 44 Mag handloads is 8.3gr under a 240gr Jacketed bullet. A nice shooting mild load.

    Advice on powder scale purchase

Much like Dwalt, my only scale is the Redding beam scale I got in 1972. It's worked fine in all that time and I have not felt the need to invest in a digital scale.
