Question on this 1917 Modified to 3.5BBL & Hard Chromed

Doesn't look like "hard chrome" to me - hard chrome is typically very similar in appearance to a stainless gun (and often fools people into thinking they have a unicorn "stainless" Model 58 or whatever). Looks to me like a run-of-the-mill average nickel refinish. That said, $550 is not a bad...

Would cylinder from 38-44 fit on M27-5

I have a post-war Outdoorsman in .38-44, and a Model 27-2 with an 8-3/8" barrel. I measured the distance on each between the end of the barrel and the recoil shield of the frame, which is essentially the measurement that the cylinder needs to fit. The Outdoorsman measured 1.643" and the M27-2...

    Browning B92 vs Rossi R92.

I have not had to replace the front sight on any of my guns.

    Browning B92 vs Rossi R92.

Have you considered replacing the safety with a peep sight from StevesGunz? Here's what it looks like on my Rossi .357. I've also used it on a .45 Colt and .454 Casull R92s.

    Browning B92 vs Rossi R92.

The Galco pad looks identical to this one that I bought from Amazon - Tourbon recoil pad. It was $25 when I ordered it in 2023, now $33. I put it on the .45 Colt Rossi R92 that I gave to the oldest son. The pad helped mitigate recoil and added a little length of pull.

    Rogak P18

I don't have a Rogak, but I do have an example of the gun it tried to copy. I bought it in 1986 for $300. Per the 1986 Gun Digest retail price was $595, but had a friend with an FFL and he ordered it for me from Gun South. The Glock 17 was available then for about the same price (retail...

    Things I (re)learned about chronographs

I started in the early 1980s with an Oehler Model 33. I then used a Chrony for a couple of decades. Both required shooting over skyscreens set up downrange, which is a pain. Five years ago I bought one of the big orange $600 LabRadar units that sit at the bench. It worked, but it seemed finicky...

    Browning B92 vs Rossi R92.

Hey, it's your gut so ultimately your call. I haven't owned a Browning B92 but I owned a Rossi R92 in .44 Mag in the same configuration. With full house loads, that steel buttplate was brutal and I wound up selling it. I should've either downloaded for it or put a rubber buttpad on it. More...

3.5” 27-2 (but what are these stocks?)

A couple of years before passing he changed his handle to Art Doc. Too much squabbling with people who wanted to shorten his moniker to just "Pig".

As you should know, GunBroker links die after a couple of months. At least take a screenshot of the sale page and copy and paste a few of the pics so that future readers will have some idea of what you are talking about.

    Unique 13-2

There's currently at least one on GB and a couple on GI. You know what's even harder to find? A Model 13 4" with a round butt.

Three completely unique pair of Curtis Harlow stocks.

For reference, here are some of the grips of this style that Schofield Kid made for me (both K and N frame size): https://smith-wessonforum.com/threads/some-stocks-by-schofieldkid81.393583/ They all have the same little cutout at the toe that I like so much, making them feel like magnas with...

    IHMSA Revolvers, anyone?

I started out IHMSA with the first gun that I ever bought by myself (as soon as I turned 21), a Model 15 Dan Wesson .357 with an 8" barrel with standard shroud. I then transitioned to a Ruger Super Blackhawk .44 Magnum with 10" barrel, with a ramp front sight rather than the Patridge that later...

    Well…I drank the Kool-Aid today…

The standard P365 grip shape fits my smallish hand just great. It's like there's no gaps or free space so my hand makes contact everywhere to completely distribute the recoil. I also love the safety and I installed a straight trigger, which feels much better than the standard curved one. And I...

    28-2 8 3:8??

What Bill said. Is the rib on the top of the barrel plain with a matte finish, or is it checkered? If checkered (likely) it's a Model 27 barrel on a Model 28 frame. If plain (unlikely) it is possible to have machined a Model 27 barrel rib smooth, but that'd be a lot of trouble to fake an...
