SW Spec series ... Steel frames are back?!

How much is a magwell, a challenge coin(or whatever stupid name they are using), a ginormous compensator and a $10 knife really worth?

    Alox lube question

I tried alox in 38 and 45 a handful of times before giving up and moving on to powder coating. It must work for some people but it always left me with lead fouled barrels. I’ve since acquired lubesizers, which are quicker than PC but not as fool proof. However the lubesizers are much better...

    625 pickup today

$625 plus tax could be close to $650. Maybe shop clerk screwed up pricing. I could see some clerk asking about it and the owner/boss says it’s a 625. So it gets priced at $625….

Scammer's Ridiculous Offer - Sucker Bait

On gunbroker, $100 over market rate would be considered a great deal compared to most offerings. :D

    Ammo prices and caliber relevance.

At this point in time, I'd have a hard time recommending 40 S&W to a new shooter. 9mm is just so much more prevalent. That doesn't mean it's a bad choice or that I'd be selling mine, just that I think the popularity is waning. .38 Special / .357 Mag is great because because the...

Help Me Choose a Suppressed .22 Handgun

I use my AAC illusion on a Glock 17, Sig P365, some .22 rifles and a Ruger 22/45. The standard 9mm and .22 thread is the same. .22 is dirtier so I went with something you could disassemble and clean. A dedicated .22 is supposedly better but a 9mm can makes a pretty good drop in the noise.

    .45 auto rim crimp

I’ve always used a taper crimp. I’ve shot all kinds of bullets out of my 1917, 1937, 1955, and model 25 without any issues. Unless you’re shooting some kind of magnum pressure high velocity loads you shouldn’t see any difference unless something is wrong with your loading practices.

Thoughts on 9mm revolvers? and barrel size for 38's rather than .355 for 9mm?

929 throats are .357. i don't know about the barrel. When shooting lead bullets it's best to match bullet to throat diameter or be a smidge on the large side i.e. use .358 bullets. Jacketed bullets aren't as effected by these small differences. When relaoding lead I use .357 bullets in...

    Powder burn rates.

Burn rates have no relation to charges used. The burn rate chart can be used to determine other similar powders. You still need to find appropriate load data for each powder. Similar powders usually have similar charges but not always.

Worn Model 10-6, seeking date of mfg & opinions on cerakote/parkerizing etc options

Do not use steel wool on that gun or any gun for that matter. Just clean with oil and cloth or Q-tips. I'm not really sure what you are asking about as it looks completely normal.

Has anyone done business with this company?

BBB is a scam. It's just a money grab to get good rankings.

Has anyone done business with this company?

They are legit. You can do a search of their address and their shop is located there. They accept normal credit card payments. I have bought those primers from them. They are hard to seat and I have experienced a number of failures with them but for the price they aren't terrible.

    629 no dash P+R 8 3/8" how many made

What condition is the gun in today? If the gun is in good condition, it will most certainly drop in value. If the gun is well used with knicks and dings it probably won't change the value much but you'll still be out $500.

Cost for reloading 9mm vs. buying new ammo

That's probably about right assuming you want to sink that much money into reloading on top of learning the ins and outs of the process. I've had a couple of friends want to replicate my setup. Once I go through the $$$ outlay and the time it takes even with a progressive the excitement...

2 Wad Cutter styles 1 load receipe

A reversed hollow base seated flush will have less case capacity. You always hear about the old school loads with reversed bullets but I wonder how or if they adjusted the powder charge to accommodate reduced case capacity or if WC loads are so light to begin with that is not a big enough deal...

Cost for reloading 9mm vs. buying new ammo

You can buy 9mm for under $.25 a round. Reloading will be at least $.15 a round. So you save some but a cheap single stage press will knock out 100 rounds an hour if you go at full speed. So you’ll spend an hour or more to save less than $10. How much does he shoot and how free time does he...

    S&W Rebates

Palmetto State Armory sent out an email today for a mode 629 $749 and you get the rebate on top of that. That’d be the lowest price I’ve ever seen for a new N frame revolver in the 13 years I’ve been shooting. I have no interest in a 629 but am still thinking about buying one.
