Others who have far more knowledge than me will be along to answer definitively, but I'm pretty sure that was a factory recall only for the 586 no dash models (not 586-1, 586-2, etc.). My no dash model already had the M stamp on the crane when I got it five years ago.

I normally carry a SIG P228, but occasionally carry my 4" 586 in an inexpensive leather OWB pancake type holster. It does not conceal as well as the SIG, but I'm thinking that one of those Mernickle PS-6 holsters will do a much better job.

Nice pickup. I received a call from S&W today, saying my 586 should be back home within 3-4 days. Can't wait to see the reblue, and am even more eager to shoot it again!
