FYI, I remeasured the gaps. With the cylinder pulled rearward, the gap measured .011. At rest the gap measured about .003. I say about because the smallest feeler gauge I have is a .004 and it would go in but very tightly. With the cylinder forced forward I couldn't get anything in the gap...
