    Interesting landing today

Everybody is a critic. During challenging conditions, any landing where there is no damage to the aircraft or pax is an excellent one. Landing where everyone walks away is a good one.

Were you law enforcement in the 70’s-80’s? What did you carry?

I carried a S&W model 28 of my own for a few years. I had it brushed hard chromed (blued finishes don't do well in Florida). At another agency I was issued a Ruger Security Six. After I showed my superiors that it wiggled when holding the barrel and grip, they tried to issue me a Colt Trooper...

    S&W Equalizer Shoots Low

In my experience. When shot from the hand, heavier handgun bullets print higher than lighter bullets due to increased recoil.

    S&W Equalizer Shoots Low

Well bless your heart. As you aren't the OP, my previous post wasn't specifically directed to you.

    S&W Equalizer Shoots Low

My apologies to anyone whom I offended. Thanks for pointing that out. Lighter weight bullets will also shoot lower than heavier ones in a handgun. I might add that one always wants to move an adjustable rear sight in the direction that one wants the group to move and not all adjustable sights...

    S&W Equalizer Shoots Low

Maybe you've never used adjustable sights. If a handgun is shooting low, you raise the rear sight or lower the front sight. It ain't rocket science!

    S&W Equalizer Shoots Low

I did. If I read your posts correctly, you stated that if a handgun is shooting low, that one needs a lower front sight. It actually just the opposite. I didn't understand what you meant by a "combat sight picture".

    S&W Equalizer Shoots Low

If a handgun is shooting too low, as in your case, you need a LOWER front sight or higher rear sight. These days, the popular thing is to produce handguns with fixed sights. I prefer adjustable sights. The good quality rear adjustable sights are durable enough for everyday use.

Dan Wesson vs Ed Brown 1911's **** EDITED****

I have owned and still own a couple of custom built 1911's. Most were built for formal bullseye pistol competition. They are/ were really excellent guns. They have perfect lockup, great triggers, barrel/ bushing perfect fitting. In my prime, I could take advantage of all those custom features...

My experience & opinion as to costs of reloading now days.

For the time it takes to either search the internet for the cheapest Brand X ammo by the case, have it delivered and break down the case or go to wait for a sale at the local big box store, I can load a lot of my preferred 9mm load. That being said, you who buy your ammo, keep doing so. I can...

My experience & opinion as to costs of reloading now days.

I got into reloading because of shooting matches. Factory match ammo is pricey and always has been. That's one reason to reload. Progressive presses are most valuable for those who shoot a lot of ammo, but a single stage press will do for most folks. For those who go shooting once a year or so...

Need help choosing good 1st Revolver for a beginner..

Don't limit yourself to $500.00. If necessary, save up your money and get a 4" K frame or L frame Smith and Wesson revolver. They are the best and most versatile revolvers. They can be used for target shooting with mild .38 Special ammo or loaded up with .357 Magnum ammo for personal defense or...

    Reload Problem For Model 52-2

I'll just say in passing that I fired quite a bit of factory match 148 gr. HBWC ammo in the past. The match brass is noticeably thinner than brass found in other loadings, especially military.

    Jovino Model 60 3 inch

I really love my 3" S&W model 60-10. Many years ago I carried a 3" S&W model 36, nickel plated. It was a lot easier to shoot than the 2" model. I like the Speer 135 gr. in .38 SPL, but Underwood also has some interesting options.

I'm pretty sure that the OP is going the Short Barreled Shotgun route.

I HAVE FINALLY RAISED THE SURRENDER FLAG IN RELOADING 45ACP

Handgun loads aren't much affected by anything except the quality of the bullet. The loose nut behind the trigger is the weakest link by far. Match rifle shooting is a different story, with case prep, primer selection, powder selection and amount being important and the bullet being of the most...

    Short Barrel Shotgun

There are plenty of other guns that would be a better choice. If I wanted a semi-auto, I'd probably go with the Remington V3 tactical and put a stock with a full pistol grip on it or a Mossberg 990 Aftershock. If you want to stay with a pump, there is the Remington TAC 14 or the Mossberg...

We had them yesterday. I grilled them. I was only 68 and 1/2 short of the winning score at Coney Island.
