    The Best .22 Ever Made

The best 22 ever made is probably the S&W Model 41. Still being made today after 68 years. Same design. Next would be the ruger 10/22. Still being made after 60 years. Can’t say that for many other brand 22’s.

    Model 41 - Magazine question

The new versions of the M41 magazines will fit and work in the old 41’s. The old magazines won’t work in some of the newer guns that use the 41 magazine like the 422,622, 2206.

    Tulsa Show Finds

Got these two Hi Standard 102’s. Trophy and Citation for $850 and $750. All the S&W guns in my interest were way over priced. Didn’t see a single M52 of M41 below 1K.

    Dan Wesson Range Day

My first collection back in the 80’s were Dan Wessons. I still have about 10 of them. Shot a lot of Silhouette with the 357 Max in the early 80’s. They still have the best factory SA trigger. Great guns.

Model 41 - Buy new or risk old?

Buy old or Risk new. Would have been a better title. I don’t own one past 1980 but have looked at them. Old ones have better fit and finish. New ones look OK and should work.

    Dan Wesson Revolvers

Got my first on in 1980’s to shoot silhouette . 357 Supermag. Set the Barrel gap at .002. Before that I had a Ruger Blackhawk in 357 max. Ruger recalled them due to top strap erosion. Since the 80’s I have 8 pistol pacs in 22LR, 357, 44 mag. The prices for pistol pacs have gone...

    Finally found a M46

Estate sale yesterday. Picked up a M46 7” barrel in the original box. Not perfect condition but probably a 90%. The box had blown out corners but I can repair that. Came with an ugly set of Plastic grips. I put a set of M41 grips I had on it. Question, did the M46 come with the same grips...

Tricks for reading serial numbers on Stocks (grips)

I’ve had pretty good luck on Pencil numbers using I pad camera and making photo adjustments. One prewar 22/32 HFT I could not even see there might have been a serial number. Camera and photo contrast adjustments it was clear.
