    Stock Finish Problem

Great advice 2152hq Plastic medallions 1951-2 approx. OP’s grips are 70’s

I AGREE, but wanted to have OP check before he potentially got rid of the grips. The original are missing and the Victory grips match the condition of the gun. I wonder if there is a date stamp (or any rework marks) on the grip frame where it went back to the Factory post war??

    Stock Finish Problem

Soaked in acetone will remove everything and not damage the medallions. A clear spray enamel will mock the original factory appearance

There have been crazy circumstances where a gun did not leave the factory for years and years. Most Victory grips that I recall had a stamped serial number, not written. Take a picture of the hand written number and then manipulate the picture…..make sure it isn’t your serial number

I’m Curious - take the grips off and see if there is a serial number inside one of panels. As far as selling, they are not particularly rare just exceptional condition. I’d keep them if you are going to continue this hobby

    Model 64 Snubnose

Welcome to the Forum Max. I have never heard of a display model but that’s a nice model 64. The SS sideplate that you installed fits perfectly. I’d bet that the assembly number stamped on its inside matches the grip frame assembly number. Throw the clear plastic in the trash 😀
