    IWB Holster Recommendations

You might take a look at ETW. I have both K and L frame AIWB holsters from them. They should be cant-adjustable if you remove one of the 2 screws holding the clip. Price is right and no real wait, couple of weeks in my experience.

What Ammo Should I Use For S&W M76 Machine Gun

I don't recall what ammo is prescribed for that specific gun (I was in a unit that had some but I don't recall firing them) but 9mm nato versus 9mm luger often is used in military subguns. The nato ammo is higher pressure.

    SW 686 Plus Holster

I have several Sourdough holsters in various sizes and barrel lengths, but I picked up a lined Wright Leather Works Predator pancake holster off ebay for my M58 and I find it more comfortable and easier to draw from than the Sourdoughs. Not that I'm getting rid of any of them.

What kind of grip is this?

Hogue plastic monogrips -- that's what LAPD issued when I went through the academy in 1981.

Later history of the 6" K-frame in LAPD service?

Ammo IIRC we carried Federal ammo? I have a vague memory of having a red Federal box of spare ammo in my equipment bag? It was +P and semi-jacketed but was not hollowpoint. Everytime Chief Gates tried to get the Police Commission to approve hollowpoint ammo the LA Times would report that...

Later history of the 6" K-frame in LAPD service?

I went through the LAPD Academy in 1981 and was issued a M67. I don't recall if it was a 67 or 67-1, but it was a Franken gun with stainless front sight, black rear sight, and an 18K serial number. I shot DX (distinguished expert) after the Academy so wanted to be like all the cool guys who...

    Barranti Holsters

Yes, I think for Barranti that is normal. It recently took over 2 months for me to get a holster from them that was supposedly one of their express models, and I had the same experience about a year ago. My complaint with them is that, at least as of a few months ago, their advertised wait...

    Fixed rear sight...

Dave at D&L will drill your revolver to accommodate his rear sight. He did my 66-2 for me. In my experience those sights make an amazing difference in combat shooting.

thoughts on polishing a revolver patriot polishing

Whenever I see a polished stainless gun for sale, I assume the owner polished it to cover for the fact that the gun was abused. Also, I can't shake from my mind the old school police axiom that shiny guns = bad guys.

Replacing Tritium Lamps in a 1993 Lew Horton 66-4 FCOMP

I had tritium sights installed on a Beretta 92 by Tooltech a number of years ago. I believe Tritium used to refer such inquiries to Tooltech. Custom installer of Trijicon Night Sights – 248.628.1811

    686 CS1 in 3 inch

Little over a month ago I paid $1750 for this CS-1. It has been fired but not much and is pretty minty to the point I am reluctant to shoot it. Came with the original grips. It was worth it to me.
