    WTS .45 mag

I have for sale some odds and ends which might be of interest to forum members: 1. Non-GI issue magazine for the 1911a1. Marked on bottom, but not sure if this was made by Colt or not. I really know nothing about it. Used but overall great condition. Asking $23 shipped via USPS anywhere in the...

    Earlier S&W Model 1917

Picked this up recently and wanted to share. Its a little late for a grooved hammer, but not out of the range of being "correct". As I understand, the theory is that S&W did away with the grooved hammers at around serial 15,000, but that it is generally acceptable to find them up to serial...

**SOLD** WTS Full moon clips for S&W 1917

WTS Full moon clips for the 1917 revolvers in .45 ACP. There are a total of 13 clips - 11 synthetic Rimz 25 and 2 traditional metal stamped. I am not a shooter and have not used these, although they came with a S&W1917 and were used by a guy for shooting that revolver. From what I have read, the...

Strange Mix of Proofs on an early 1917

I am fairly new into the field of the 1917s, so please bear with me if this is a stupid question. I came across this fairly "early" 17XXX serial 1917 which has the correct style of scalloped grips (not sure if they are matching or not), but what is strange is that the frame has the "later"...

Concave Stocks on later gun- is this legit?

I appreciate everyone's thoughts. I had kind of the same feeling - something just didn't sit "right" with this. That is why I posted to get others' thoughts.

Concave Stocks on later gun- is this legit?

I came across this later 87xxx serial gun which carries the earlier concave stocks, which appear to be properly serialed to the gun. Is this legit? I have heard that the earlier stocks do appear at random at times on the later guns, but this seems fairly late? Playing the Devil's Advocate, it...

How hard is it to find original, polished and case colored lanyard loops for the 1917?

    New 1917 Army

Thanks to all for the positive comments. So here is the funny thing. As I said, it sat on auction for about a week with a buy-it-now of $849 with no takers. After seeing that this had the grooved hammer and what appeared to be correct parts, I hit the BIN. I am not huge into these but...

    New 1917 Army

Thanks to you both. Yes, I was pretty happy and lucky on it. It sat on an auction for nearly a week without any interest. The photos were horrible and description misleading (made it sound like there was quite a bit of wear). One night I was bored and so began to photo shop the pictures and...

    New 1917 Army

Picked this up recently and wanted to share. Looks to me to be a very nice early 1917 Army. All matching from what I can see (believe the two numbers on the inside of cylinder strut are inspector's numbers) - butt, inside grip, extractor, cylindere and barrel. I am not too versed on these, but...

    Model 1917 Grip question

As a newbie here I am trying to gather some information prior to purchasing a Model 1917 and one question that I had was whether the grips were marked on the inside (in pencil) on the Model 1917s? I believe that to be the case but just wanted to make sure. Thanks for any information you can share.
