    Ammo prices and caliber relevance.

I am a big round guy. I am NOT recoil sensitive. The timer proves that I can place accurate rounds on target faster with the 9 than with the .40 or the .45. Since we now have 9mm hollow points that function at standard velocity, why not? I have an abiding love for old school shiny blue Smith...

    Value of "no lock" 642

I have Ergo Delta grips on all my round butt J frames, including my 642P edc. They are Glock Ugly, but really help with recoil control. They improved both my accuracy and speed on follow up shots. I'd give them a try before I sold a proven carry pistol.

To Model 13 or not Model 13, that is the question..

    BUY IT! I have a 3" and a 4". IMHO, the 3" K .357 is the best shoot & carry balance in a revolver.

    581

I paid $900 for mine, blue, no box or goodies, incorrect stocks and just a JOY to shoot.

    The before..and..after!!

That was a worthwhile project and a great save. Thanks for taking the trouble.

    K32 Masterpiece

Welcom, from Northern IL. That is in the 1955 range, a couple of years before model numbers were used. That's a very desirable revolver. We would love to see pics.

    Gold lettering on barrel?

Many people did that 40 years ago. Solvent & an old tooth brush should bring it back to original.

    Model 64 over stamped

    My 581 is stamped 58-1!

Why are combat and target grips called that?

Finger grooves are great when they fit my sausage fingers, but mostly they don't.

Why are combat and target grips called that?

Depends on the size of your hands. Personally Magnas without a grip adapter are a nonstarter. Same for most finger grooved grips. K & N Targets show better results on the timer and target for me. Pachy presentations better still. YMMV

    Showing Off a New 27-2

Very nice! I have a similar vintage 6" 57 with box & tools. They feel as good in hand as they look in the box.

Worn Model 10-6, seeking date of mfg & opinions on cerakote/parkerizing etc options

I would keep the Pachys. Like you, I think they just feel & point right. I would wipe it down and take it to the range. As far as a refinish goes, it is a shooter grade gun and no $s spent will change that. IF it's appearance really bothers you, and if it proves itself to the point that you...

    No dash 68

WOW! The 68 is news to me! Right there in the Standard Catalog, just overlooked. Thanks again, for dispelling my ignorance. I LOVE this Forum.

Inclement weather and Low light practice

I'm always disappointed when people brag "I carry every day", then only show up to shoot in fair weather, and NEVER practice holster work, reloads or malf clearing with gloves on. Glove season is 4-5 months here.

    My newest carbine

I had a Model A back in the '80s. Sold it in the early 90s to keep the lights on and the fridge full while between jobs. A few years ago I had a chance to replace it. I added a solid stock and a Burriss Fast Fire. It gets a work out when I take it to the range. EVERYBODY thinks it's THE fun...

    That other Model 60

I had a Glenfield in my late teens. Great little rifle. All my buddies had Nylon 66s though, so I HAD to have one, and the 60 went away. Probably my first "should have kept it" regret. Sadly, not the last.

Nice! My K snub hasn't found me yet.

I'd Sure Like To Have THAT S&W Back

So true! Most of the ones I really regretted trading away have been replaced and in most cases upgraded: 4" 10-6 eventually became a 3" 13-2, my 6" 17 became a 6" 48-2, the 4" 66 became a 4" 19-3 and a 4" 28-2 became a '56 4" Highway Patrolman. They all went away in the 80s and came back after...
