Robertson Trading Post sells 10 round magazines for the 69xx on Gunbroker. From their description, it appears these are 10 round 59xx Mec-Gar magazines that have the plastic piece replaced with a shorter one to fit the 69xx.

I have a 6906 and a 6949. I agree with standsdds with respect to the retention strap, although 6946 holster with retention strap will work with the 6906 (in my case at least). Also, the safety on a xx06 could interfere with a xx46 holster, but that's opposite the direction you're going.

I wondered about that as well. But as I looked closer, I wondered if the "gaps" we see are just at the tail end of the slide and that the slide to rail fit is better than it appears. I don't have a Shield (or any of the other M&P) models, so I don't know.
